After completing the Nursing CE Domestic and Community Violence Course, learners should be able to:
• Describe the various types of violence including domestic, workplace, and community in relation to statistics, types, risk factors, and characteristics of vulnerable persons and perpetrators.
• Discuss the signs and symptoms of domestic abuse and neglect associated with various age groups including the cycle of violence between intimate partners.
• Differentiate the types of workplace environment violence including lateral and vertical violence, risk factors and interventions that can be taken to decrease or minimize the opportunity and incidence.
