Washington CME Requirements and Courses

Physicians who are licensed by the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission must earn at least 200 CME credits every 4 years to maintain their license to practice. Of these 200 CME credits, maximum of 80 credits can be Category 2 credits, a maximum of 80 credits can be Category 3 credits, and a maximum of 80 credits can be Category 4 credits.

Physicians who are licensed by the Washington State Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery have a different set of CME requirements. These physicians must earn 150 CME Credits every 3 years. Of these 150 CME credits, at least 60 of the 150 credits must be Category 1-A Credits.
