The DEA now requires all DEA-registered practitioners to complete a one-time, eight-hour training requirement on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. Your deadline is the date of your next scheduled DEA registration submission on or after June 27, 2023. This course, developed and Accredited by AffinityCE, an ACCME Accredited and DEA-Qualified Provider, in partnership with PRESENT e-Learning Systems, fulfills that requirement. The course is presented in 8 easy to digest modules. You can complete them on your own time schedule. You will receive a Certificate of Completion for each of the 8 modules which is your evidence of having completed the requirement. In addition to the general requirement to earn 50 CME/CECH credits every 2 years for license renewal, California podiatrists have an additional requirement to earn radiology credits if they take X-rays in their office. The Continuing Education Requirements for Certificate/Permit Renewal regulations of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), last updated in Feb 2017, states that anyone taking x-rays in California must meet the requirements for licensure as a Certified Radiologic Technologist. Those requirements include earning 10 CME credits every two years, “related to the application of X-ray to the human body” which may include “X-ray administration, X-ray management, X-ray pathology, X-ray diagnosis and X-ray quality control.” They go on to say that, “It is the responsibility of the certificate or permit holder to ascertain the acceptability of the continuing education activity as a CE credit for the Department’s purposes.”

The Live In-Person Desert Foot Multi-Disciplinary Limb Salvage and Wound Care Conference returns to Phoenix, Arizona at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, December 9 – 12, 2026. The renowned lecture program will be taught by some of the finest teachers in podiatry and will be focused on evidence-based, best practices to improve limb salvage techniques, advanced wound care skills, and treat surgical and medical disorders of the lower limb. The conference provides a great opportunity for you to learn along with a large part of the federal service wound care and surgical community, as well as hundreds of healthcare professionals in acute care, home care, and the private sector.

The conference brings together five groups involved with limb salvage preservation of the lower extremity, from healthcare clinicians in the private sector, the Veterans Administration, VA Podiatric Residency Directors, United Wound Healing and the Department of Defense. The most unique part of the conference is the rotating interactive hands-on workshops, focusing on advanced technologies that provide our attendees with hands-on practical experience and training on surgical procedures, advanced wound care, and new techniques in healing the lower extremity that you will bring back to your offices to begin using on Monday morning.
