Learning Objectives
Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:
- Consider several types of esophageal non-neoplastic lesions, carcinoma precursors, and neoplasms.
- Recognize, assess and diagnose gastric polyps, with attention to the patterns of injury in the surrounding flat mucosa.
- Address various types of neoplastic and non-neoplastic small intestinal pathology, including mast cell disorders.
- Be aware of unusual types of colitis as well as classic forms.
- Recognize various types of syndromic and sporadic polyps of the colorectum.
- Develop an approach to gastrointestinal mesenchymal lesions.
- Discuss a host of forms of iatrogenic injury (particularly medication-associated) to the gastrointestinal tract.
- Describe several recently recognized anal lesions.

This CME activity is primarily intended and designed to educate practicing pathologists, pathology trainees, and other clinicians with an interest in genitourinary pathology who seek to strengthen diagnostic accuracy, improve clinicopathologic correlation, and remain current with evolving classification systems and best practices in patient care.
