Learning Objectives
By the end of this activity, attendees will be able to:
- Recall the etiology of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and utilize this knowledge to determine best clinical practice
- Detail the common findings in patients presenting with HCM and apply these criteria to an example patient
- Outline the echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging features that support clinical diagnosis of HCM and apply this to sample patient data
- Classify the correct primary hemodynamic category for individual HCM patients (obstructive vs. nonobstructive) and interpret example patient data
- Explain the diagnostic differences of diseases that appear morphologically similar to HCM and employ this on example data
